As I put my pen down and go offline for a few days, I have a Christmas wish for you: that you can relax and enjoy whatever time you have off, that you will indulge yourself, that you will treat yourself a bit better than you might at other times of the year. Leave the ambitious tasks behind and simply enjoy your time on this beautiful planet of ours.
A Dream Comes True
Christmas is a loaded word, one that I used to feel neutral to not-great about. Then I had kids and it turned wondrous and magical all over again. Now that they’re a bit older, it’s become a holiday of work for me but also joy. For instance, their big gift this year is that we’re going to Hawaii in spring. We’ve talked about it for eight years, dreamed about it together, shared pictures of the coral reefs, the beaches, the sun, the volcano, and more. Now we’re finally taking our children to this heavenly place that my husband and I love.
This morning, when I see the delight on their faces and feel their warm hugs, I’ll know all of the shopping and wrapping and cooking was worth it. I hope that you can find moments of joy on this day as well. Cheers.
