Flower and garden shows are fun. In Seattle, we often have ours in early February — no idea why. This year it’s February 5th – 9th, 2014. Seattle has a mild winter climate but few people think of spring until mid-March (depending on the weather). We have our show almost regularly in early February. This seems odd to me. Yes, the early cherry trees are blossoming and the crocuses are coming up but those are the only signs of spring we have.
But I digress. Recently, I had the privilege of voicing my pet peeve with gardening shows on Garden Rant in a guest post. It’s about the dim lighting in the display gardens. Maybe most visitors don’t, but I actually tour those displays with the intent of “seeing” something new. The problem is most of the time I’m stuck squinting amidst the shadows. Anyway, if you’d like to check out the post, click here.
